The templates and layered backdrops come in a .psd format with layers. Therefore Photoshop or Elements is needed to work with them.
Photoshop Elements is a fairly inexpensive option and well worth the investment if you are going to spend any time modifying your photos. For a free 30 day trial of Elements click here.
Photoshop’s full version can be a good investment as well, it is a bit more expensive. But for $9.95 a month you can get Photoshop CC and Lightroom. For a free 30 day trial of Photoshop click here. If you or a family member qualify, you can purchase the educational version and for less than the normal version and it has the same features.
That being said, we do have some backgrounds in .tif and .jpg format that do not need Photoshop or Elements, you can use any program that allows .tif, .jpg or .png files to work with them.
